My journey

I have spent my life working with children and young people. Having a teacher as a mother meant that every school holiday was spent in a deserted school, helping to set up the classroom for the next academic year. I worked as a teaching assistant for a few years before finally gaining myqualified teacher status in 2010

In 2016 I fell pregnant with my first child. Having Aria really turned my life upside down and after a very challenging few months of Aria suffering with silent reflux, I developed postnatal anxiety and depression. Nothing prepares you for having a baby and after being helped to find myself again, I decided to use my teaching skills in a completely different way.

I trained with Mamababybliss to teach baby massage and baby yoga and just loved how these classes could help support parents in so many different ways. I was part of the MBB family for 2 years before deciding to enhance what I do and set up on my own.. thus HappyFace yoga was born.

I have since trained with Sally Parkes to fully qualify as a pregnancy yoga teacher and have gone on to train with Rainbow Kids to be a fully qualified kids yoga teacher.

The yoga really is secondary to everything else that I teach. It’s more about coming to a place of happiness and peace with where you’re at in your life and who you are. Our classes put well-being and mental health first and teach coping strategies for stress and anxiety. Whether you are pregnant, have a small baby or an older child, it’s never too late to discover the benefits of yoga.
